Sophia Newsome loves Thanksgiving but when her mushroom business is vandalized and her sister announces plans to marry a man Sophia considers a conniving weasel, she struggles to feel grateful. She believes helping organize the Turkey Trot Festival will take her mind off her worries. To accomplish the daunting task, she drafts Chadsey’s newest citizen as her righthand man.
A sleepy small town where everyone knows you and your business is not urbanite Nicholas Verga’s residence of choice--but he doesn’t have one. His only job offer as a museum curator is in an early 1800s gunpowder mill in a rural Pennsylvania village. He’s thrilled with the opportunity at the unique venue until he’s told his duties include public relations work. On his first foray into the community, he meets Sophia, who draws people into her orbit like the gravitational pull of the sun.
With Sophia supervising the rebuilding of the mushroom house and Nicholas facing a deadline for the museum’s grand opening, it’s a race to the finish which includes life-changing decisions.
Will friendship mushroom into something to be truly thankful for during the Turkey Trot Festival?
