Muffins, Murder & Marmamlade
(2026)(The first book in the Whiskers & Whisks Cozy Mystery series)
A novel by Lyla Jadeborn
Welcome to Maple Falls, where every sweet treat hides a secret...When Nora Bell returns to her quiet hometown to reopen her late grandmother’s bakery, she hopes for a fresh start filled with warm mornings, familiar faces, and the comforting scent of freshly baked muffins.
But Maple Falls has secrets of its own.
On her very first day back, Nora discovers a dead body behind Bell’s Bakery. The victim is Clara Jennings, a sharp-tongued investor with old ties to the bakery, a trail of enemies, and a mysterious connection to Nora’s beloved grandmother.
With whispers spreading through town, suspicious neighbors watching her every move, and the future of the bakery suddenly at risk, Nora must uncover the truth before her fresh start crumbles completely.
Luckily, she isn’t investigating alone.
Her curious orange tabby, Marmalade, has a talent for finding trouble, clues, and things people would rather keep hidden.
As Nora digs into old letters, secret contracts, rival bakers, and long-buried grudges, she realizes Clara’s death may be only the beginning. Someone in Maple Falls is willing to kill to keep the past hidden—and Nora may be next on the list.
