I had nothing but old family legends after my mom died. We’re descended from the Greek goddess Pallas. We can turn into mermaids. Never mind that my mom perished trying to prove those stories true. So I go looking for answers. I don’t know what I expect to find, but I have nothing left to lose but my life.

The human that busted me swimming as a dragon in the lake insists she’s a mermaid who can’t shift. Regardless, I can’t forget her. And she’s not allowed to know about my kind without being my mate. Since binding an unwilling woman to me isn’t an option, the only other solution is to find out if she can really sprout scales and a tail fin. If she can show me she’s descended from a goddess, she gets to stay alive. And if I can keep her alive, maybe I can win her love.
