Fated mates, Knight and Emaline, find each other when Emaline is just 17. Knight, in his 20s, leaves to give Emaline time to grow into a young woman. While Knight is studying to become a beta and preparing for their future, unbeknownst to him, Emaline is kidnapped into the world of human trafficking but is later rescued.
