The sun is gone. Twilight reigns. And the monsters prowl.

In the world of Macone, an ancient curse has blotted out the sun, plunging humanity into an endless dusk. From the shadows came the Verang, supernatural horrors that curse, kill, and prey upon what remains of civilization. Long ago, warriors known as Shepherds hunted these creatures from fortified Lodges… until those Lodges fell silent and the Shepherds faded into legend.

Jax Bream was never meant to be one of them.

A thief, a braggart, and a professional liar, Jax only claims to be ‘chosen’ to become a Shepherd to avoid hanging. Unfortunately for him, the mayor calls his bluff and sends him straight into an abandoned Lodge, expecting the Verang inside to tear him apart.

Instead, the monster puts him to the test.

Judged worthy, Jax is granted the
Shepherd Class, gaining the power to learn, hunt, and slay the creatures haunting the twilight. Armed with new abilities and no way out, he must track monsters through clues and curses, forge weapons and armor from their remains, and uncover the truth behind murders no one else can solve.

As Jax grows stronger, the derelict Lodge awakens alongside him, unlocking upgrades, secrets, and the buried history of the Shepherds themselves. And with every Verang he slays, the line between cowardly thief and true protector grows thinner.
