The French Countess

In the year 1789 Magdalena, a young French Countess, was surrounded by luxury and her future seemed assured. At the same time, in an Essex village, George Mitchell was wrestling with the problem of providing for his widowed mother and his brothers and sisters. The Revolution in France and declaration of war between France and England were to cause a dramatic upheaval in the lives of the Countess and the humble English yeoman. Each was faced by apparently insuperable difficulties until fate brought them together.
