The Single Girls' Wishing Club started as a book club.
Just a book club, made up of six friends who liked to talk about the romance novels they were reading, as well as their lives.
And one night there was a shooting star.
All six women saw it. All six of them wished on it.
They wished for true love.
LIZA:
I long for a man to rely on.
I don't need one--I can manage my own life, and my kids' lives, just fine.
But it can get exhausting, being the only person in charge.
It can get lonely, too.
So when I meet this big, grumpy, black-bearded hulk of a guy, the first thing I can think is this:
I want to climb him like the tree trunk he resembles.
BURNEY:
Since I got out of the Army, I've been on my own.
Bought my own rustic cabin up on Halfmoon Knob, and I like it up there.
Thing is, I'm too much on my own.
And when I meet Miss Smart Mouth, all I can think of is getting that mouth of hers on me.
When she turns out to be much more than backchat and beauty, I know I have to make her mine...
