Dancing with the Scars
(2027)(Book 12 in the Reality Show Cozy Mystery series)
A novel by David Korson
Bubbly singer Pixie Kendricks has finally hit the big time: a live guest spot on Dancing With Celebs, the glitziest ballroom competition on television, complete with a spinning disco ball, sequins for days, and a national audience hanging on her every note. It should be the performance of her life. Then one of the celebrity contestants, a washed-up child star with no shortage of enemies, turns up dead behind the studio, and the police are all too happy to file it under "tragic accident." Pixie isn't buying it. Somebody in dance shoes was arguing with him minutes before he died, and if there's one thing she picked up from her mystery-solving best friend Holly, it's to trust her gut… and to color-code her suspects: red for rage, green for greed, and purple for... well, she's still working on purple.
With her unflappable mechanic husband Chip along for the ride, Pixie swaps her stage sparkle for full-on amateur detective mode, going undercover at dance classes, crashing studio parties, and charming her way past everyone from prickly judges to jittery producers. There's just the small matter of whoever got rid of the show's most troublesome star not being thrilled to find a glitter-covered pop singer poking around. Can Pixie and Chip waltz their way to the truth before the killer cuts in?
Pick up Dancing with the Scars today and take a spin on a dance floor where the competition is absolutely killer!
