Bandits

(2013)
A novel by

Ex Para and Falklands War hero Paul Walker goes off the rails when his wife leaves him in 1982 and ends up part of a team that steal a million pounds in an armed airport robbery. He is later captured by police but refuses to tell who else was involved. The judge at his trial dubs him the Silent Man and finds no reason but to send him down for a long time. Eight years later, Walker is released and goes in search of his cut from gang leader Des Dutton, now a successful businessman in Blackpool who runs a small empire of nightclubs and pubs. Dutton promises him his money with interest but plans a double cross to ensure the Silent Man remains silent - permanently.
Walker refuses to back down and takes on a gang of professional killers in the city of lights as late season holidaymakers throng the piers and attractions during the annual Illuminations in an explosive thriller.
