(2003)
A Novella by

A beautifully told story of magic and adventure, from award-winning author, Gene Kemp. Written in Gene's own inimitable and accessible style, perfect for children beginning to read alone. Illustrated throughout with atmospheric artwork. Luke is sick and tired of being bullied by Jason and his gang - they have even destroyed his precious flute. But when Luke's gran takes him to pick a new instrument, Luke feels as if the shining, silvery piccolo in the mysterious music shop picks him. As Luke is compelled to play the piccolo more and more, he finds his dark dreams of revenge on Jason and his friends are magically coming true. At first Luke is pleased with the power of the piccolo, but then things start to get out of hand. Luke finds he no longer controls the piccolo, or his anger, but it controls him!
