Waking up married in Vegas is a cliche. Waking up married to HIM is a catastrophe.

Let me back up. Two weeks ago, Colin Davis knocked my brother out in a parking lot so he'd stop hurting me. Then he gave me the kind of night that makes you reconsider every rule you've ever made.

I don't do relationships. I don't do encores. I changed my name and escaped Kansas to protect the life I built.

Then Colin showed up at my gallery opening and we broke the rule. (And the bed)

Now I'm in Vegas, champagne-drunk, having a laugh and joke-getting married to by an Elvis impersonator. Except that the license is real. And Colin has a proposal: Stay married until his dying grandmother passes. She's chosen to live her final days instead of waiting around to die and wants to see Colin settled. Now, he'll pay off all my debts, the shady loans, the brother threatening me, everything.

The deal seems simple. Fake it until Gran's gone. Then walk away clean.

Except Gran's record collection is full of love songs, and this damn golden retriever of a man, Colin, sees through every wall I've built. And somewhere between fighting over thermostats, fixing up my falling-down house, and falling asleep feeling safe for the first time in my life, I forgot we were pretending.

I might be able to pay off my debt, but I don't think I could ever repay him for showing me what being loved feels like. Now if he'd only return my call.
