Massacre

MASSACRE is the second and final book in the short lived Rommel Series by Leo Kessler. The book is about the fictional German 8th Machine Gun Battalion who are sent to the Western Desert to fight the British. They are led by Colonel Donath, his right hand man, "Ole Flipper Hand" (so-called for his prosthetic wooden hand) and the Italian Lieutenant Questa, a Fascist who happily tortures and murders but who is also a veteran of the desert. The Battalion are firstly ordered to attack the fort at Mechili and then to attack Tobruk. Along the way they will have to fight not only the British but also Senussi desert tribesmen.
