I sold myself to get off-planet. I belong to the Pheons now.

Life at the Zimanthi colony at the butt-end of the galaxy is no picnic, but I wasn’t expecting a good time when I signed the paperwork. Most of the women here needed money. I just needed to get away. There wasn’t a place on Earth distant enough to outrun my mistakes.

The Pheons—big, blue warrior aliens—need us for their mining operation, and they aren’t happy about it. Khuvrul is the worst. His fierce brows knit together in a scowl every time he looks at me, but I see the lust in his dark eyes when they devour my curves.

When our colony is attacked by enemy raiders, I try to make myself useful. Khuvrul’s furious when I join his scouting mission, but his body betrays him when I climb on the back of his speeder and hold tight.

Even worse?

My body betrays me, too.

I used to dream about getting as far away from Khuvrul as possible. Now, all I think about is being his.
