Allison, a vulcanologist at Yellowstone National Park, has always had a connection with the element, fire. As a child she felt its presence as well as that of the man controlling it. When the volcano suddenly comes to life and threatens to erupt, Allison did as she'd always done - she reached out to the hostile heat beneath her.

Pyros tried with all the considerable power at his disposal to stop the explosion threatening to overtake the Earth. Just as he his strength was about to buckle, he felt the presence of a human adding her strength to his. He grasped at her blindly, taking what she offered. With that instinctive move, both Pyros and Allison's lives were changed forever.

Together with the help of other Elementals, Pyros and Allison must explore both their power, and their love for each other.
