A novel by

A teenage girl is raped, mutilated and murdered in the broiling wasteland of Nevada by a homicidal psychopath; a ruthless serial killer who cuts tattoos from his victims to keep as macabre trophies.

Deputy Sheriff Cal Morgan an ex-LAPD cop who has returned to his hometown of Benson's Creek stumbles on the murder scene and is subsequently killed in cold blood. At the precise moment that Cal dies in 1996, Danny Clayton is born on the other side of the continent in Washington D.C.

Twenty-one years pass, and following an accident in 2017 that leaves Danny in a coma, it is Cal who regains consciousness, somehow reincarnated to inhabit Danny's mind and body, with no memory of the intervening years. Cal has returned from the grave possessing extraordinary mental powers that strengthen with every passing day. He finds that he can read others' thoughts, and even control their behavior and decision-making.

So begins a unique, terrifying and relentless quest to hunt down the killer who robbed Cal of his previous life.
