The Love Spoon

Beautiful and talented Mary Sutton grew up amidst her father's thriving carriage-making business in the Victorian countryside. She meets Kester, who comes seeking work. He's handsome, interesting, and a man with a past. Without realizing it Mary falls in love with him. But soon she learns that she is in fact the result of a dalliance between her father and an aspiring singer-hence Mary's astounding voice. Her father later married and his new wife accepted Mary as her own. Mary cannot forgive her father, however, and she leaves home to seek out her natural mother and to pursue a career on stage. But she cannot forget Kester.
