When a body is found in vaults hidden beneath Edinburgh's frozen streets, the locals try to avoid having to involve the Star Elite. Nobody ventures into Mary King's Close except the people who live and work within the vaults. However, deep within the dark and dank tunnels lies a sinister secret, one which is going to claim more lives unless the Star Elite venture down there to find the killer.

Having been born and raised in Edinburgh, Lachlan and Gordon are assigned to the case. What neither man expect is to find the rather beautiful and evidently wealthy Miss Aisla Donaldson creeping around in the darkness, claiming to be looking for her missing sister. Lachlan thinks she is lying, but when another body appears, and it looks suspiciously like Aisla but isn't her sister, the Star Elite begin to wonder just what kind of trouble Aisla and her family are in.

While Lachlan tries to uncover the truth, he is drawn into a complex web of lies and deception the likes of which make him begin to doubt his sanity, and it doesn't help that Miss Donaldson seems determined to drive him quietly out of his mind with her charming smile and distracting beauty!
