Adam

Adam is the story of a scientist named Fischer, who uses a tailored retrovirus to implant the Fox P2 gene (sometimes called the "language gene") into a cage full of rats and a mouse named Adam.

Fischer is a good, careful scientist, but Fischer forgets that the law of unintended consequences can make fools of us all.
