Chris Morgan was fresh from the army and seeking his old friend, veteran lawman Crossdraw Willard Lester. After Chris saved a tricky character, Jake Dollar, from extermination by outlaw Long Tom Breeze's road agents, Dollar revealed that Lester was dead, murdered - he said - by Breeze's boys. In fact, Dollar himself had killed Lester, hoping to collect the reward offered by the boss of a nearby robbers' roost. Chris coerced Dollar into showing him the way to the robbers' hideout, which proved to be treacherous...
