When young Dr. Garrison Bart completed his medical studies on Earth, he was fortunate enough to find an assignment on Acoma, a pioneer planet new enough to offer every opportunity, yet not so new as to be really dangerous. However when he landed, he discovered that what they really wanted was not a medical doctor, third-class, but a doctor of animal husbandry-a veterinarian. He began to notice very strange things in the animal kingdom.
