After the Invasion at Normandy Beach in June of 1944, Allied intelligence reports indicated a desperate push by the German Army to turn the tide of the war. Reports of a new chemical weapon developed by German scientists could be unleashed if not stopped.

Special Forces 1st Sergeant John Ray and his squad of twelve are selected to perform a reconnaissance mission across the French countryside to seek out locations where the German Army may be hiding their new chemical weapon.

As Ray and his squad advance closer to the German front they encounter an explosion in the distance and suddenly a looming black cloud appears on the horizon. Equipped with gas masks, Ray and the squad put them on and observe as the massive black cloud engulfs the countryside. Once the cloud has passed Ray discovers their field radio is no longer working and they are cutoff from command.

And that's not all they discover. As Ray leads the squad deeper into the French countryside they soon see the results of the chemical black cloud. All who encounter the gas cloud unprotected are transformed into walking, blood thirsty, flesh-eating cannibals who will stop at nothing in their quest for human flesh.

Ray and his squad find themselves entrenched in a new war, one against an ever growing Army of the dead.

And World War Zero begins.
