(The second book in the Cursed Blood Chronicles series)
A novel by

Gutty entered the ancient portal after the treacherous Sagam, the Master Thief, and went after his woman, Mina, and his unborn child. She had been forced on a dark path by Sagam, her father, and Gutty would find her, and kill him both, or die trying. He left Aldheim, the Jewel of the Nine, and found himself in the underbelly of light, the dark, rich, brutal realm of Svartalfheim. If he hated elves before, he would not love the svartalfs any better. Where he finds himself, is a den of nightmares for a human. Having barely survived elven treachery of House Daxamma and House Vautan in Aldheim, and the battle with the undead dragon Whelm, the Horn King has descended into the land of Goddess Nott, where the svartalfs rule vast, cruel realms, where the dverger guard their long-hidden holds and secrets, and where a gorgon queen is trying to exterminate the Guild of the Night, the brothers and sisters who serve the wicked Under Lord in everything to do with thievery and the art of dealing death. Gutty finds himself recruited to the guild. Forcibly. A human with a background in piracy, thievery, and murder, Gutty is not a hopeless recruit, but he must go on a mission for the Under Lord to recover Mina, and the mission is not one most humans, who are lost in Night, could finish. Luckily, Gutty is also the Horn King, a thing of god Vidar, a predator rather than the prey, a god of night and hunt, and he soon finds he likes killing svartalfs just as well as he does elves. To challenge Gorgon Stheno's captains, is no small feat, however. Will he and his surprising allies succeed in saving the Guild of the Night, and will he save Mina, while burying his ax in Sagam's skull?
