So she did what any reasonable woman would do: made up a husband. A commanding, unseen Mr. Lickfold whose ‘instructions’ she’s been following for two years.
But the locals are starting to raise their eyebrows and Helena knows the jig is nearly up. In a moment of desperation, she hires a reputable agency in London to find her a manjust someone to pose as her husband, offer a nod of approval, and vanish. Easy.
Enter Hunter Lindsay. A charming baseborn bareknuckle boxer who not only is surprisingly good at this husband thing...but insufferably attractive and not nearly as willing to disappear as she’d hoped. Helena can’t decide if she wants to kiss him or kick him or both, repeatedly.
But when danger closes in and her new hired husband becomes the target, Helena has to choose: risk the only man who’s ever made her want a real partner or protect him the only way she knows how?
Warning: another flaming hot adventure, full of bad jokes, spicy bits, and more than a little whisky. Get ready for fun!
