Gaia was born a goddess with no past and no end.
Alone in a desolate galaxy, the purpose she gives herself is creating life, nurturing what survives, and protecting her fragile worlds from a universe that destroys as easily as it makes. With only Prime, the companion she made from herself, to keep her company, Gaia convinces herself that duty is enough.
Then she meets Sigil.
Mortal, principled, and achingly kind, Sigil becomes everything Gaia was warned never to love.
Across ages and lives, he and the child he protects, Cassi, return to her again and again, each time drawing Gaia closer to the family she never allowed herself to want.
But eternity is cruel to those who love a mortal.
As Gaia struggles to reconcile her self-appointed role as caretaker with the impossible pull of Sigil and Cassi, she must decide whether a goddess exists to serve creation, or whether she deserves a life of her own.
Gaia Wept is a sweeping science-fantasy love story about loneliness, family, sacrifice, and the courage to break one’s own rules.
