Kevin was a hard worker, a man who never let anyone give him something he hadn't earned. It was a trait instilled in him since childhood, an ethic he carried into his adult life.
But one day, something was given to him that he didn't deserve, accidentally. It wasn't something he could give back either, for it was a gift of immense power: Magical Power.
Kevin had been given the last vial in existence of a Magical solution, a precious elixir that had smashed into him. But there was just one problem: he was human. Humans weren't supposed to know about the Magical world, let alone possess its power. And that was because, for centuries, humans were believed to be incapable of performing Magic. Earth knew of Magic, of course, but only in the form of myths and legends.
Yet, Kevin was about to be rudely awakened to the existence of the Magical world in the most painful way possible. He was about to learn that Earth wasn't alone in the universe, and that there was a whole galaxy out there, teeming with creatures from stories and legends, such as Werewolves, Vampires, Beasts, Changelings, Fairies, and even Goblins.
Kevin's new trainer, Marrisa, was a no-nonsense kind of gal with cat ears and a tail, who didn't take crap from anyone. She was also a bounty hunter, and Kevin was now her problem. But it seemed that everyone had chips on their shoulders, and Marrisa's chip was the size of a barn.
Can they work together, or will Kevin have to ditch her and find someone else to train him? No one wants to work with Marrisa, but her bosses are telling her that Kevin is her problem now.
As Kevin and Marrisa try to figure out how not to kill each other, they will be drawn into a world of danger and intrigue, where magic is the only way to survive.
