A Novella by

The myths are about to come true...

When, at the ripe age of forty-two, Major Hugh Delamare decides it's time to settle down, he never could have dreamed that the young and pretty Millicent Dwyer would agree to take his hand, and together, they begin their married life at the Major's idyllic island retreat off the coast of England.

But after a strange accident in the sea, lovely Millie appears to lose herself. Pregnant and isolated by a mysterious condition, she sits day after day gazing out to the sea, and the Major veers between his desires for a happily married life and the fear that Millie might never be the same again.

And when the child is born, it becomes clear that the mystery is only just beginning to unravel - and that Mermaid Island is a lot more than it seems...

'With history this colourful and a mystery this baffling, the result is delicious' - Good Book Guide

Lampitt, has two grown-up children, four beautiful and talented grandchildren, and one rather large cat. Deryn has lived near the famous battlefield of 1066 for the past 16 years where she enjoys her life as a woman about town.
