An ancient vampire demon needs rain to emerge from the pits of Hell.
Unfortunately, it’s in Scotland.

As an ancient evil escapes from the fetid depths of the earth, the town of Doune Burn on the north-east Sutherland coast locks its doors and buries its head in the sand. A field of sheep is slaughtered, then a herd of cattle. Soon, the first human victim follows.

The Rev Lucas Hopper travels from Glasgow, with DC Ritter of Police Scotland’s ACU, to tackle the beast. But this is a terror like they’ve never previously faced, and on the first night they must witness its brutal, destructive power.

More officers are drafted in, only to meet a bloody end. And as Hopper and Ritter search for answers, another historic evil emerges. The gates of Hell are being opened, the clock is ticking, and Hopper must search ancient texts for the secret to defeating an evil older than time itself.

There will be rain.
There will be demons.
And there will be blood...
