My mother left me one thing before she passed, a beautiful flower shop.

I have seven days before the bank takes it, and it’s the only thing I have left after my divorce.

A developer has been trying to buy the building to tear it down and put up a hotel, but I’ve been refusing to sell.

Last night, just before closing, I heard commotion outside and a man rushed in and locked the door behind me.

He turned off the lights and pulled me behind the counter before I could say a word.

I heard tires screeching outside and peeked through the window to see three news vans surrounding my shop.

A reporter yelled, ‘He ran in there, somebody find out who owns that flower shop!’

He took my wrist and pulled me into the back room.

When he flipped the lights on, I immediately recognized him from the news.

His billionaire father just died and left him everything, but only if he’s engaged by the end of the week.

The deadline is in two days.

His eyes landed on the bankruptcy notice sitting on my desk, and then he looked back at me.

‘I’ll pay off your shop tonight, if you put on this ring.’
