Miriam Brooks is a woman accustomed to difficulty, but she has not realized that the biggest challenges of her life are yet to come.

When necessity forces her to move out west as a mail order bride, a blizzard during her journey leaves Miriam with a lasting injury. A mountain man arrives to save her and brings her to town, where she meets her husband-to-be Wilson.

Wilson is caught by Miriam’s beauty but is hesitant about her injury as it will affect the chores he needs her to do. But he marries her all the same in a private ceremony.

After staying only a few nights with Wilson, Miriam is chased out for being a burden due to her injury. Miriam is left to fend for herself and finds herself lost in the wilderness amidst the ongoing snow storm.

Jacob Hobbs, a mountain man, thrives in his small and peaceful world in the woods. But his isolation ends the moment he saves Miriam for a second time from the snow and brings her home. Holed up in Jacob’s cabin due to the storm, love begins to blossom between these two very different souls.

But troubles follow closely behind.

Wilson returns to seek out Miriam, alleging she is a thief and threatening to involve the sheriff. Then, even as Jacob defends her, something far more serious threatens to pull them apart forever: Miriam realizes that she is pregnant with Wilson’s child.

Can Jacob accept this new reality, or will Miriam once more be cast out? Will Miriam’s courage and never-flagging flame of hope finally flicker out? Or will these two prove that no difficulty is impossible for love to overcome?

A Christian western historical romance; no cheating, no cliffhangers and a guaranteed happily ever after.
