Gregory Liefer



Gregory Liefer is a fifth generation Alaskan, author, historian and former commercial fisherman, army aviator and civilian pilot. He graduated from Wrangell High School in Southeast Alaska and is a graduate of the State University of New York. During his 20-year military career Greg served as a paratrooper and helicopter pilot/instructor pilot, including two tours in Alaska. It was while flying in Alaska that he began researching and writing about aviation history. AVIATION MYSTERIES OF THE NORTH is Liefer's second non-fiction book by Publication Consultants, along with BROKEN WINGS, re-released in 2014. "Missing in Alaska," a story on the disappearance of a Navy patrol plane was featured in Logbook magazine. Greg holds an FAA Airline Transport Pilot certificate and has flown thousands of hours in various aircraft. Twenty-three of his thirty-two years flying experience was in Alaska. THE LAST FLIGHT, a novel about flying in Alaska, is due for release in April 2016 by Yucca Publishing.
