Janet Lunn was born Janet Louise Swoboda on December 28, 1928 in Dallas, Texas, U.S.A. She came to Canada in 1946 to go to Notre Dame College in Ottawa and then to Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. There she met and married Richard Lunn, a fellow student.
She published her first children's book, Double Spell, in 1968. Loved by many Janet left a endearing memory that is immortalized in her amazing books.
