Motive for a Kill

(1977)
A novel by

Jonathan Blake was returning to an old house and an old love, he thought. What he came back to was a house of smugglers and wreckers who had plundered the Cornish coast for centuries and wrecked fine ships on the rocks below the cliffs. This time when he got there, he found a wrecked yacht but it was on top of the spiked gates leading from the road. How it got there and why it got there proved a twisted mystery until the ship revealed itself to be a most unlikely motive for murder.
