Laurel once worked with Laramie, a keyboardist in a band. When a close friend of his is killed, he asks Laurel and her husband, Nick---a retired newspaper reporter--to look into Asher's murder. Asher played lead guitar in a band, and after his last performance, was stabbed to death in his bed. When Nick and Laurel start talking to people who knew Asher, they discover a drummer in Indy was stabbed to death after a performance, too. The deaths are so similar, they drive to Indy to investigate. No one was ever arrested for the murder of Sticks, and no one ever discovered why he was killed. They return home and can't find any motive for why Asher was murdered either. But Asher deserves justice, and they're determined to provide it. But they come up with one empty lead after another. Is this going to be the case that stumps them?
