Alice: She is twenty two years old and lives with her mean aunt in Independence, Missouri. Her Parents died when she was a baby and she has no other known relatives besides her aunt.
One day at the hotel where she works as a cleaner, a fellow workmate shows her a copy of the Matrimonial Times and the adverts therein, from single men from the west. Aware of the maltreatment Alice faces at home, her best friend Rachel convinces her that this is her only way to freedom; to become a mail order bride.
When things at home become unbearable, one morning at the crack of dawn she sneaks from the house without her aunt’s knowledge and leaves for Nebraska.

Frank: He is thirty years old and has no care in the world. He’s lived with his wealthy elderly uncle since his mother abandoned him at birth in Bellevue, Nebraska.
He’s set to inherit his uncle’s fortune but for that, he has to get married. He’s in love with a local widow named Betty but his uncle will hear none of it. Uncle Bart has a bad feeling about the widow Betty. He threatens to leave Frank out of his will.
Not wishing to end up penniless, he places an ad on the Matrimonial Times publication seeking a bride from east. He plans to marry her, get the inheritance, and then divorce her to marry the love of his life Betty.
Things are going to plan, and Frank leaves town with Betty. Next thing he knows he wakes in a dirty shack, bound hand and foot.

Will the Sheriff be able to track down the kidnappers and save Frank?

Can Alice forgive him for the deception?
