One day her younger sister Helen informs her that she’s pregnant for the town’s playboy and he has abandoned her to raise the child alone. Wanting to rid their family of the impending humiliation, their father orders the younger sister to get married in Nebraska. As the older sister, Anna is forced to find a suitor as well through the mail order bride service to avoid shame.

Harry: He’s twenty-four years old and lives alone on his farm in Lincoln, Nebraska. His wife left him two years ago after he fell on hard times. Bitter and angry, he’d decided never to marry again and threw himself into his farm.
Now successful, Harry is feeling lonely. All the locals know about his first marriage, and he isn’t interested in facing the questions. And then, a solution is presented to him. The Matrimonial Times – Perfect.

Anna arrives in Nebraska to a wonderful welcome from Harry. They get married and all is well until a mysterious lady shows up on their doorstep claiming to be his estranged wife. She insists that she’s still married to Harry and thus his marriage to Anna is null and void.

In shock Anna runs to her dear friend’s home.

Can she ever forgive him? Or should she go back to Missouri?
