Two years later, he’s longing for female companionship and possibly an heir for his bakery business. He places an ad in the ‘Matrimonial Times’ for a bride from the east.

Unbeknownst to him, his longtime worker and friend, Bethany, has had a crush on him and hopes to catch his eye, but to no avail. When she learns of Daisy’s impending arrival, jealousy takes over and she vows the couple will not get married.
She unleashes a diabolical plot against the two lovers.

Albert is blind to the machinations, and eventually blames Daisy for the problems. Just as Daisy is leaving town, Bethany unwittingly reveals the truth.
