A Novella by

Phoenix is book 1 in the Howlin Ranch series

When Alpha Phoenix Bardolf is informed that three boys in his care have shifted and are headed up Haystack Mountain, he isn't immediately concerned. It's off season and rare to have campers vacationing this late in the year.
Learning that his assumption that the mountain is empty is wrong and that there is one lone camper in the path of the boys, Phoenix and his brother Dallas head out to avert a possible tragedy. What concerned him the most was not that the young boys would harm the camper, but that the camper would harm them. Three young, curious wolves could be seen as a threat by someone alone in the wilderness.
Ellis Grant is alone on the mountain to heal after her father's unexpected illness took him from her far too soon. When a wolf's cry pierces the night, she sees it as a sign from her father. Her father loved wolves. Answering the call with a howl of her own seemed like a good idea, right up until she realized there was more than one wolf out there and they were headed right for her.
