Belfast girl Liz O'Hara is devastated to discover that her fiance, Danny, has been unfaithful and that a teenage girl is pregnant by him. To make matters worse, after the shotgun wedding the couple intend to live in Danny's parents' house across the street from Liz's own home. Meanwhile, Danny is far from happy at the thought of being forced into a loveless marriage and pursues Liz relentlessly, hoping for the best of both worlds.
