Virginia Haversack needs a husband. Without one, her father's will stipulates the hat shop they built together will go to Virginia's cousin - something Virginia cannot bear.

Paul Turnbridge doesn't need anyone. He's perfectly content as a gentleman farmer studying bees. But when Paul's brother asks him to marry Virginia as a favor to his family, Paul agrees - as long as no further demands are made. A grateful Virginia vows she will be as good as invisible to this "husband" she never expects to see after the ceremony is over.

When Virginia's shop is once again threatened, Paul arrives on the scene. Acquainting himself with his wife for the first time, he's no longer so sure he wants to keep this marriage-at-a-distance quite so distant. Who knew there existed a woman whose appreciation for work extends to his work as well?

But how long will it be until Virginia's goal to remain invisible crumbles?

Bonnets and Bees was originally published in 2015 as part of The Convenient Bride Collection. This novella has been updated and republished in 2019 by Maureen Lang.
