A Prairie Romance Novella Collection / Set of three romantic novellas:

The Education of Josiah Barlow
On the Illinois Prairie, 1877
Ellis Easton is determined to be the first woman to teach at the Townsend School for Boys. She knows there is only one way to be considered: by sending in her application without explaining her unusual name belongs to a woman. The truth is obvious upon her arrival, so it's up to her to convince not only the Headmaster but staff and student alike that being a woman doesn't disqualify her from doing the job.
No one is more against hiring a woman - and in particular such a beautiful one - than Josiah Barlow, whose efforts to understand women in the past have always failed.
An education is definitely in store - but for whom? Ellis, or Josiah Barlow?

The Summer Harvest Bride
On the Illinois prairie, 1851
For shy Sally Hobson, marrying the mayor's son is a notion she's trying to get used to, since everyone in town expects him to propose. But then the Daughtons come to town, offering to build the finest grist mill on the Illinois prairie.
Lukas Daughton stirs emotions in Sally she's never felt before. Sally, however, is determined to follow her own common sense. How can she risk her heart to someone who will be in town only long enough to build a mill?

Bonnets and Bees
On the Wisconsin prairie, 1871
Virginia Haversack needs a husband. Without one, her father's will stipulates the hat shop they built together will go to Virginia's cousin - something Virginia cannot bear.
Paul Turnbridge doesn't need anyone. He's perfectly content as a gentleman farmer studying bees. But when Paul's brother asks him to marry Virginia as a favor to his family, Paul agrees - as long as no further demands are made. A grateful Virginia vows she will be as good as invisible to this "husband" she never expects to see after the ceremony is over.
When Virginia's shop is once again threatened, Paul arrives on the scene. Acquainting himself with his wife for the first time, he's no longer so sure he wants to keep this marriage-at-a-distance quite so distant. Who knew there existed a woman whose appreciation for work extends to his work as well?
But how long will it be until Virginia's goal to remain invisible crumbles?
