A Story by

Susanna Stahley has led a quiet life in her community. She returned from her rumspringa on time, got baptized, and promptly disappeared to help her parents with their home.

However, the more she has thrown herself into serving her family and making sure that her parents and younger siblings had the help that they needed, the more she didn’t feel like she was happy. What will it take for Susanna to be happy?

But as the days turned into years, she couldn’t help but wonder if that was all there was to life without feeling incredibly selfish about doing less for others. Even wondering that made her feel too selfish to ask for help.

Joachim Wyse is only one of the many concerned men in the community. Only one of many concerned people, period, in the community – wondering how Susanna has not yet found a way to be more social. Shy, she is, but that shouldn’t have meant that she was only seen at Sunday services. Can Susanna overcome her anxiety and become independent?

When word gets to Joachim that Susanna is struggling with the choices she's made in life, he has a choice to make about what to do and just where his concern lies. Will Susanna and Joachim find love between them, or are they destined to be lonely forever?
