Hannah Lapp has put a lot aside for her youngest brother, Elijah. He's been ill since he was four years old, and she has always wanted him to have a normal life. But that's come at a cost for her, mostly for her sanity.
David King is Hannah's best friend in the community, and he sees a need to be filled. Hannah has not taken good care of herself since Elijah got ill. So, he decides that it's time that she learned that even in a family crisis, it's all right to need time to oneself.
He may have an ulterior motive for pushing Hannah to take care of herself, but he's not the only one with thoughts about how Hannah should live her life. She wants to get married, to court someone. She just doesn't have the time.
With an adjusted schedule and her other siblings all pitching in, she hopes that she'll be able to turn it all around.
When things take a drastic turn, will Hannah learn to rely on others around her, or will she continue to insist that she can do it all alone?
