C2.215.4, who has chosen the name Chai, isn’t defined as a normal human being. Her body and mind were specifically engineered to work a mundane desk job at the Cronos Corporation with unwavering loyalty and obedience. After centuries of indifference, however, the questions posed on a random field assignment change her existence.

When Chai travels to Gaia and meets the Sphinx Librarian of Apocrypha, she begins to evolve and question the corporation’s goals and her place in the universe. She expects her mind to be wiped and reset so that she may return to her duties, but she receives a choice instead – to replace the Eastern Library’s dying heir. She chooses to aid the Libraries, but learning how to be a human isn’t easy, especially when her assignment includes shifting into the fabled Book Dragon and acquiring four protective mates. She doesn''t know whom to trust, and she suspects that her employers never intended for her to succeed. After tasting food and discovering desire, however, Chai is determined to remain on Gaia.

Enter the Hidden Libraries Saga, where women who are considered underdogs must repair the fate of the universe by saving the magical libraries from annihilation. This is the second trilogy in the Hidden Libraries Saga, but reading the first trilogy is not necessary to understand this one - a glossary and character guide will be included for reference.

*This is a whychoose romance, which means the main character isn't required to choose between her love interests.*
