The Sisterhood, by Sheldon Lord, a pseudonym of Lawrence Block, was first published in 1963 by Universal Publishing and Distribution Corporation within their Beacon Signal Sixty series No. B659X. It was republished in 1970, within their Softcover Library, as S-95189, and had by then emerged as "An erotic and literary classic of pulp lesbloitation". For the UK and Commonwealth, Softcover Library in 1972 republished it as 'Women in Love' with ISBN 0851062350. The front-cover extract sums it up nicely: "Ravished by a stranger, she sank into a swamp of bisexual love...".
