"I should get up and get dressed, Jarrod said..
"And leave me alone in bed?" How beautiful she was, this Laura Brown with her blond hair and her blue eyes. But who was she, really?
"I said it was what I should do. I didn't say it was what I wanted to do. You know, the first time we met all I saw of you was your rear end. I thought it was cute in those ragged shorts.. Now I know how right I was.
Paradise. Key West, Florida. Not exactly a paradise for Laura Brown. She is working undercover with the police and everything depends on keeping her real identity secret. She has hired Peter Wolfe as a mechanic to work on the boat that is her cover, not realizing that he is the brother of the famous investigative novelist, Jarrod Wolfe. Jarrod has written four best sellers, two of them based on trouble within wealthy families. Laura was sure Jarrod would love to know what her trouble was. She had to keep away from him. Yet his sexual magnetism drew her. He is tall, gorgeous and witty, and muscled in all the right places. More and more she falls under his spell.
Jarrod knows Laura is keeping a secret and he is determined to find out what it is. Now Laura has two worries, how to keep Jarrod from finding out what she is involved in, and keeping Jarrod away from her so he won't get tangled up with the criminals she's after and get hurt or killed.
