A Novella by Teresa Ives Lilly
Chloe Raymond has been living in an orphanage in Boston all her life and see's very little hope for her future, until she saves Mildred Chrenshaw's life. The woman promises to find Chloe a husband through her Matrimonial Agency, but before she is able to do so, Chloe is assigned to take three children across country in a train to Iowa.
Mildren Crenshaw doesn't approve of Chloe traveling alone, so asks one of her clients, Sylvester Gaines, to chaperone Chloe and the children.
Sylvester is a bit disappointed that Mrs. Crenshaw hasn't found him a suitable helper yet, but agrees to chaperone the small group. When they reach Iowa and discover the children's relatives are not there, Sylvester doesn't want to send Chloe and the children back to Boston until he receives word from the Orphanage, so he takes Chloe and the children home with him to his mercantile.
Chloe helps out in the mercantile and wishes she could stay in Iowa and keep the children, but she knows that would be impossible unless she were married and Sylvester is hopefully waiting to hear from Mrs. Crenshaw about his potential wife.
Can God open the doors for Chloe and the children to become a family and stay in Iowa? Will Sylvester realize that what he's been looking for is right there with him?
