The Friland Murders: Books 1-3
(2027)(A book in the Friland Murders series)
An omnibus of novels by VM Larsson
The Friland Murders Collection, Books 1-3, Volume 1, consists of the following Nordic noir police procedural books:
THE ALIBI
A body is found tied to a wind turbine at the Friland wind farm in the North Sea. Forensic technician Moa Bakke is called to investigate, while her recovering colleague, Fredrik Dal, is reluctantly drawn back into active duty. What begins as a single murder soon escalates into a series of brutal killings and unexplained break-ins. As the investigation deepens, loyalties are tested and the line between right and wrong blurs. Is someone orchestrating it all from the shadows – or is a serial killer pulling the strings?
THE BETRAYED
A routine training dive near an oil platform in the North Sea uncovers a horrifying discovery – a body strapped inside a Ferrari, twenty-five metres below the surface. As newly appointed Detective Inspector Fredrik Dal begins his first day, Forensic Technician Moa Bakke and the Friland Islands police are drawn into a case that quickly proves far more sinister than anyone imagined. A wave of brutal crimes shatters the close-knit island community, exposing secrets, fractured loyalties and hidden agendas. As the pieces fall into place, they uncover a deadly game in which the stakes are measured in lives. Is a serial killer pulling the strings, or is something even darker lurking beneath the surface?
THE CLOVER
The opening night of the summer festival on the Friland Islands turns into a nightmare when the burning effigy on the ceremonial raft begins to scream. Forensic technician Moa Bakke and Detective Inspector Fredrik Dal witness one of the islands' most horrifying crimes. At the same time, the fifteen-year-old murder of baby Kelly is reopened after a breakthrough in genetic genealogy uncovers a promising DNA lead. As the investigation gathers pace, the detectives suspect the two cases are linked. With old secrets resurfacing and loyalties tested, the past refuses to stay buried. Could there be a link to the burning effigy?
Author’s Note:All three books in this Nordic Noir police procedural collection feature gritty crime descriptions. These titles have been previously published as standalone books: The Alibi, The Betrayed and The Chosen.
