Widowed and pregnant, escaped indentured servant Emily Russell is left alone to survive in a wilderness inhabited by savages. Living in the cabin built by her dead husband, she has made it through the harsh winter and given birth to a healthy son.

One spring day while picking berries, Emily spies an Iroquois warrior. Terrified for the safety of her child, the young recovering mother hides her newborn then flees, crashing through the brush to draw the Indian’s attention away from her baby.

But fate puts her and her infant in the strong, savage hands of Forest Thunder, an Onondaga brave. The warrior steals mother and baby from their home and takes them to his village, and Emily is forced to endure a journey filled with fear, surprise and an alarming attraction to her kidnapper.
