Kannon McCarthy and the team have overcome a multitude of difficulties already, but is the worst still to come?

The team finally have the chance to take the submersible down to explore the waters around Cardea, although sticking to an agenda proves challenging due to a number of unexpected events and incidents. As Kannon continues to deal with his own demons and his team reveal previously unknown character flaws and quirks, Leopold and his daughter's motivations also remain unclear.

On top of juggling the team's various ailments and inconsistencies, Kannon is faced with countering the increasingly violent advances of the island's mysterious water creatures as well as the heightened whispers of the island itself. His own dark past creeps closer, although his mind still refuses to unlock the vital clue that could reveal who murdered his father.

Can Kannon pull himself and the team together for long enough for Cardea to reveal her secrets or will Atlantis's ancient mysteries remain forever unexplored?
