DAVID MACFARLANE has won numerous National Magazine and National Newspaper Awards. His memoir of Newfoundland, The Danger Tree, won the Canadian Authors Association Award for Non-Fiction,and his novel, Summer Gone, was a finalist for the Giller Prize and won the Chapters/Books in Canada First Novel Award. He writes a weekly column in the Toronto Star.
